“Viewed through the eyes of Trent Parke and Narelle Autio, the world is an incredibly beautiful place. The Australian
pair share a passion for exposing life through photography, and their unique images have won acclaim worldwide. This
time however, the camera lens is focused squarely on themselves.



Narelle and Trent both pursued photography before they met and fell in love, which proved the catalyst for an
extraordinary working partnership. Dreamlives follows the pair in their search for the perfect shot: from their attempts
to capture the mayhem of goat racing, to their more reflective periods of exposing life in a big city and their patience
in chasing the right light and the right moment. 



In 2001, Trent and Narelle won the World Press Award for their series of photographs, The Seventh Wave - a two year
exploration of Australian beach life. Their award-winning series, Australian Road Kill, is a beautiful series of images
of dead native birds and animals, all found roadside during a country trip. The aim, says Narelle, was to photograph the
animals in a beautiful way to allow the sadness to show through, so as to get a message across about the death of
Australia's native wildlife.”

Minutes to Midnight: Trent Parke

“Trent Parke captured "Minutes to Midnight" during a two-year journey across Australia at the end of which his son was
born. It is both a document of a nation mourning the loss of a perceived innocence and a man's vision and evolution.



Travelling across Australia for two years with his partner Narelle Autio, Trent Parke produced a body of work which he
came to call “Minutes To Midnight.”  A book was published, an exhibition created that toured the globally.



The work us both a document of a changing nation, uneasy with its identity and its place in the world, and a work of
fiction which when combined suggests the build-up, aftermath and rebirth of an apocalyptic world.  In its making, Trent
pupated from documenting an emotional black and white world to one of color.



Images from the photographer’s extensive road trip are here combined with previous work, Autio’s Polaroid images
from the journey and the couple’s family photographs.  It adds a view of Parke in action and in thought.”
