The 11 tracks on Eva Cassidy's Wonderful World were selected to make it the companion to the massively popular 1998 collection, Songbird, and marks another step forward in this world-class singer's remarkable transition from local Washington DC treasure, to universal acclaim. Wonderful World highlights some hidden gems from her catalogue none more so than the title track, which threatens to do for the Louis Armstrong classic what she did for "Over the Rainbow".
Another release from the late singer/guitarist whose gentleacoustic interpretations of popular standards have sold millions. Intended to act as a "primer" and companion piece to the 'Songbird' album, this brings together some of the less obvious tracks from her first three releases, including versions of songs by Joe Simon, Louis Armstrong and Paul Anka.
