Metro Station is an American Pop band, formed in 2006 in Los Angeles, California. In late 2006, the band signed a
recording contract with Columbia/Red Ink. They are best known for their Top 10 Billboard hit single 'Shake It' from
their self-titled debut album. Popularized mainly by their co-frontman Trace Cyrus, older brother of Hannah Montana star
Miley Cyrus, and Mason Musso, older brother of Mitchel Musso from Hannah Montana the band has experienced a recent boom
in their record sales.



'Shake It' is a song by pop group Metro Station originally released as the third single from their self-titled debut
album. It was their first charting single, reaching No.10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No.4 on the Canadian Hot 100. The
single was certified Gold June 13th 2008 and later Platinum that year, until finally reaching 2x Platinum status at the
end of January 2009, making it one of the 115 best-selling singles in U.S. history. The music video, directed by Mark
Hoppus and Billie Woodruff, for the song 'Shake It' was inspired by many fans who created their own versions of the
video, 63 of which the band posted as a playlist on their YouTube account. The band has commented that the final product
was based on the cult film The Warriors, with rival dance crews in place of gangs. The video features the four band
members as they enter a theatre. Once inside the theatre, they perform the song while various dancers compete against
each other around them. The video ends with the police entering the theatre and forcing everyone out. Released in the UK
on March 23rd 2009, it has at the time of writing peaked at No.9 in the UK Singles Charts.
