Movie Info:

Baron Manfred von Richthofen (Matthias Schweigh fer) is the most feared and celebrated pilot of the Imperial German Air
Service in World War I. His fellow pilots and himself regard their aerial combats as a glorious sporting contest,
ignoring the horrors of the trenches below. After being wounded in action, von Richthofen falls in love with Nurse K te
(Lena Headey) and realizes he is only being manipulated for propaganda by the Generals.



Torn between his disgust for the war and his love for aviation, the Baron is offered a position away from the
battlefront. To K te's shock, he refuses to leave the firing line, stating that the pilots dying at the front don't have
a choice, but he does. Ultimately, he is killed in action by Arthur Roy Brown (Joseph Fiennes), shortly after he and K
te had planned their life together.
